| My friend Jean recently introduced me to Christie’s Duet’s album whilst on a road trip from Sligo to Giants Causeway and back to Dublin in a day. The album was on repeat play. Upon my return to Australia Jean kindly gifted me this same album and it warmed my heart not the least for the wonderful memories of your beautiful country. Back here at home the music in my car is more often than not dictated by my young children. However just last week my 6 yr old son requested "Shovel man" and as I wracked my brain over which Wiggles or Bob the Builder song he meant it suddenly dawned on me he was referring to Christie’s "Don’t forget your shovel". We put it on and sang our heart out. I just thought I’d share this with you as a reminder that although your days may still be clouded with sadness, your Dad’s music continues to make others smile. God Bless. Melinda x |

| Managed to see Christies documentary over Christmas.
His gentle demeanour and happy nature brought joy to my family and a tear to the eye. I hope that this Christmas was not too lonely for all in the Hennessy family. The loss of a husband \ parent is such a difficult thing but you can all be assured you all have a guardian angel looking over you. Best wishes for 2009 Tony, Miriam, Teresa & Noel Bergin |

| I have only just found out the sad news about Christie and even at this late time I offer my sincere condolences to all the family. I have enjoyed the music for a number of years and continue to do so, some great insight from Christie in his lyrics and having read about his difficulty with words it is a credit to him that he rose above and made some fine music. I never had the pleasure of meeting Christie or seeing him in concert but I can listen to his recordings and enjoy them through the years to come. |

| Both myself and my mother have been a fan of Christie for along time, we eventually got to see him live a few years back in Dundrum Theatre, and it was one of the best gigs i have ever been to. His singing was so beautiful, and i found myself getting quite emotional thoughtout the night. Some of my favourite songs have been All the lies, Star and If you were to fall. I have many of his tracks on my ipod, and whenever im having a bad day, i listen to him, sometimes i cry,and sometimes laugh.
I was fortunate to meet him after the show, and we got pictures taken with him. He was such a lovely man. We also took some pics of him with other fans, unfortunately i lost their address and was unable to send them on the photos, so if by chance they are reading this, i hope they get in touch. On the day i found out he passed away, i felt extremely sad, as if i knew this man personally. Im sure everyone felt as if they lost a friend that day. I have been so greatful to have seen him, and spoke to him, and i will continue to enjoy all of his music. Thanks, Orlagh |

| Just by chance I listened to The Box on the train into work in London this morning. On a Hillside in Beaune always makes me smile and I thought that it would have to be one of my Desert Island Discs!. I decided to "Google" Christie Hennessy when I got to the office because I realised I didn’t know much about him and hadn’t heard anything of him for a long time. To find out that he had passed away a year ago was, well, devastating. I had never heard of Christie until I saw him a few years ago as the support act to Jools Holland and the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, and to me he was the star of the evening. I have always wondered why he was not better known. |

| To my regret, I only heard of Christie after his passing but from what I’ve read and seen since then, this was a man with a most gentle soul and most moving music. The world is a richer place for his having been here, even if not for long enough. |

| You were the real star Christy, although we never met you in person
we felt we knew you personally through your songs. We are very lucky you left us a piece of yourself through your music. From the first time we heard you sitting in Bennigans Bar in Derry listening to Radio Foyle when Sean Coyle played you on his show and still does, Joe Nelis the bar manager was preaching to us that you were a genius and how right he was.Joe celebrated his 59th birthday in November and made the band finish with Roll back the clouds. The place was buzzing and it was great to see the pleasure you brought that night even after yor passing. I know Richard Moore who founded Children in crossfire so it was amazing you took the time to record for the charity.Bennigans Bar also founded a school in Haridwar in India to look after homeless children who needed fed clothed and medical attention paid for with the annual Bennigans Baby night which the patrons run and pay for every April. This too felt like another little connection with you through the charities.Just before i sign off i want to wish your wife and family our deepest and sincere sympathies from all the patrons and staff of Bennigans Bar and the wider Derry area. Christy keep writing the words in heaven and we`ll keep playing the melodies in Benningns.God Bless. |

| Hello,
Just wanted to say how good it was to see hermione on TV yesterday, i too stopped what I was doing to listen to her speak about her Dad. I think Christy is a legend and was a very lovable character. Looking forward to the new album coming out in the Spring. It is so unusual to see somebody that was so talented and yet so humble. He is missed but will be remembered. I hope his family can deal with the loss of Christy through his fantastic music. R.I.P |

| Hi There
saw Herimone on the Seoige yesterday 11/12/’08. I was doing dinner but stopped everything to lisen to the interview. she is a very beautiful girl. i loved christy (r.i.p) he was a remarkable human being. i can thank my late mum who listened to his music all the time. i learned to love it too. so when i play it now i think of them both. a year has gone now and the loss is still raw. theres a long way to go. my mum is gone 10yeaars now and i am as good as i am going to be. but like you i thnk of the happy times and keep her memory alive. no doubt christy is in the highest place in heaven. he will go on living through his family and his beautiful music. he was not able to read or write but that did not stop him. he did not let that stop him and was gifted in so many other ways. i am sure who ever told him quote "he was going to do nothing if he left school at 12years" is probably gobsmacked now. anyway just to let you all know christy and all of you are in peoples hearts. he will never be really gone from us. |

| I find it hard to believe that it is a year since I stood in Grafton Street with tears running down my face as I listened to my son on my mobile phone telling me of Christie’s death. It was like a member of my own family had gone. I didn’t know what to do so I went to the nearest church and lit a candle for Christie. I was to have been at his gig the previous week, but of course it was cancelled. I have many many memories of Christie’s concerts, but the one I enjoyed most (well I can’t say that because I enjoyed them all) was the one in the Point Depot which was badly attended. Christie called us all up to the front and sang his heart out. At one stage he said "Them feckers that didn’t come tonight don’t know what they’re missing!" HOW RIGHT HE WAS.
Miss you Christie and love you as much as ever. I have a signed CD beside my bed always and listen to "Remember Me" very often......and I do. Ena XXX |
