| i met christie when i was working at a d.i.y store in westbourne grove, he always had a smile on his face and would manage to cheer me up even though i hated the job! one day he told me he was a musician which was something we had in common so he told me he would bring me one of his albums, one day he came and gave me a copy of stories for sale, i took the cd home and i thought it was very nice.
sadly that was the last time i saw christie because i left the job soon after, i always wondered how he was getting on. two nights ago i just noticed his cd in my large collection of cds at home....it just stood out so i put it on and decided to go on his website so i could catch up with him, unfortunely this when i heard the very sad news of him passing, i am deeply upset i never got a chance to tell him what i thought of his songs. happy st patricks day christie, rest in peace. sam |

| Admired Christy for years , he has given so much to alot of people & is missed by so many. It might be some comfort to his family to know this but it still doesnt take away the personal loss felt by those nearest to him - my heartfelt sympathy to you all - remember you are lucky in that you can still hear his voice & some of his stories unlike many of us that have lost & can never hear our loved one again - this is special & to have had the chance to put together his ’story’ towards the end of his life is wonderful for you now and in the future and especially for the generations to come to know what a wonderful person Christy was.
Wishing you the peace of happy memories. |

| I first listened to Christy’s music when I lived in the USA from 1993 to 1996. It reminded me so much of home. The lyrics and melodies of "The Rehearsal" were for me and still are true genius. May he rest in peace. Best wishes to his family. |

| I lived in carrickfergus NI 1993 to 1996 and first was intrduced to Christie’s music on the local TV stations where he would make a guest apppearance, sometimes with his daughter. I was always blown away by his unique voice and the beautiful lyrics of his wonderful songwriting skillls.I did not realise that Christie had passsed until i had logged on to you tube. I am so so sorry to hear of his passing, he seemed such a gentleman and a star and a true musician. God rest his soul. A true talent always lives on. |

| Hi, whoever may read this. Just listening to one of Christie’s albums and thought I’d pop by the website.
Running a folk club from 1970 to 76 (The Shakespeare’s Head in Carnaby Street, London), gave me many chances to meet and enjoy exceptional people. My first viewing of Christie’s talent was as a judge in the Slough Arts Festival Folk Competition, at which hundreds of hopefuls showcased their talents. Christie was an absolute revelation - haunting lyrics with a voice to match, a distinctive guitar style and - shining through - a gentle, loving, self-effacing personality that made you warm to him. I later had the pleasure of booking him as main guest at my club several times, was also able to ’introduce’ him to a few others. He would sometimes just turn up on a Thursday, too, for the chance of airing a few songs. Everyone loved him, everyone will miss him. I’m really sad to think he has now passed on, but glad that I had the chance to know the man as well as his music. My prayers for you and yours, Christie, Dave Stringer |
