Congrats to all involved with the Christie Hennessy Memorial today unveiled in Tralee, i first heard the idea onthe radio from another great Tralee entertainer, Mark Lean and he spoke with passion about the need for it and lit a fire under the urban council to get it done, i had tears inmy eyes today as the statue was uinveiled by Christy Moore.
New album is great, i like track 10.

I first heard Christie, played by John Peel, about 1974–5, ’’Far away in Australia’’ and ’’All at Casey’s Wakes’’.
I visited Dublin in 1975 and tried to find the album, but to no avail. About 2 years ago, I was in my local record store when I came across ’’The Platinum Collection’’, which I bought there and then. I was not disappointed, I recognised his marvellous voice as soon as I put the CD on. I did not realise how prolific Christie had been. I just wish I had rediscovered him sooner. I was shocked to hear he had died. I send my condolences to his family, and may his soul rest in peace. God Bless.

An incredible witness to human nature at its best. I am inspired by the simplicity of the man and the music and, especially by the song REMEMBER ME. I certainly will. Who needs to read and write with such eloqeunce. God rest you Christie!

Christy, the days and months and years go on, but you will never be forgotton, a true humbel Gentleman, who certainly continues to inspire ordinary people like myself to ’have a go’ at writing the odd song, what a tragedy I will never actually see you sing live, you’re missed, but all good people who pass on are truely so missed

Dear Mrs Hennessy:
I recently lost my husband and love of my life. There are so many moments when I feel as if I am drowning in this sorrow. I am sure you understand this feeling far too well. I recently heard of Christie’s music for the very first time. The song "Remember Me" resonates in my very soul. I listen to it over and over.
I cannot imagine your feelings when you hear his voice sing this now. I just wanted you to know how this song touches my life and makes me feel an eternal connection with my husband.
God bless you all and may He heal your hearts in his way.
