My kids were part of an accordian band back in the early 90`s and we were in London for an Irish Music festival. We were walking in Picadilly and I spotted Christie walking. As he passed I just said `hello` and he stopped and had a lovely chat with us and encouraged the kids to keep up the music. He was a lovely man and went out of his way that day to talk to us, complete strangers. My eldest daughter Nicola did keep up the music and is now teaching piano and I think Christie did make an impression on all of us that day. Christie left many happy memories behind and is sadly missed.

I just wanted to pass on my regards to the Family of the Late Christie Hennessy. My father died of the samething, 3 years ago yesterday 24th March he was only 75years old but a beautiful man just like Christie loved by everyone he met. When i hear one of his beautiful songs, the voice so strong and true touches my heart. I know that my dad and Christie are up in heaven having a laugh and making sure that their families are well looked after. God bless them both and my Christie Music Live On Forever.
Big hugs Lisa O’Sullivan

..That the silent presence of your death
Would call your life to attention
Wake you up to how scarce your time is
And to the urgency to became free
And equal to the call of destiny.

That you would gather yourself
And decide carefully
How you can now live
The life you would love
to look back on
from your deathbed.

Christie Hennessy, you mattered.
Mrs Elaine Hartigan, Dublin, Irelamd.

What a gentle man he was. It must be one of the most difficult things to be - gentle in a harsh world.

May he get his eternal rest

Sad loss of one of the finest, it will be a long time that a man like this walks on earth. To say that his music is inspirational and touching is a massive understatement - every time I listen to his music I am almost drawn to tears. I am, so glad that I got to see him at Coleraine in 2007, a memory I will have for life,

All the best to his family and especially to his daughter Hermione who is also a "brillant" singer! / John Herron

Just discovered Christie’s music. Can’t believe I’ve got to 54 years of age and have never heard his music up to now. I’m Irish and have lived in the UK for 25 years but somehow he passed me by.

As a lifelong Cat Stevens fan I’m stunned by the similarity in their voices. It’s such a joy to find a new body of music that I immediately fell in love with. I’m now buying up everything by Christie.

Having never seen Christie before I looked him up on Youtube and have watched various videos. He comes across as a really lovely man and one I wish I had seen in concert.

God bless Christie. What an underrated genius.

You really should have been a star.

I’ve only discovered christie’s music recently, after seeing his daughter hermione on t.v. I am truly saddened that I did not discover it sooner. I’ve been watching interviews with tears in my eyes, he seemed like an absolute gentleman. My sincere sympathies go out to his family. x x x

From someone who lost my beloved mother to this same form of horrible cancer shortly after Christie I want to express my sympathy to all of Christie’s family on their loss. Whenever I hear Christie’s beautiful music I think of my mam and while it will always bring a tear to my eye in realising how much I miss her it is comforting to know that her home in heaven is shared with people like Christie who brought such beauty to this world. A trait she would have appreciated. Sharing your grief. Donall Dunne

It was with the deepest sadness that I heard of Christy’s illness for I have known a lot of people who died from asbestos pisoning including my own Father and I knew that it was only a matter of time until the dreaded curse claimed another lovely Gentleman. I have been a fan of Christy’s for a very long time and I will always love his music and stories It is a joy to hear Harmonie singing ,she does a beautiful rendition of that Crowded House song and there is so many other beautiful songs out there just waiting for her, her dad would be such a proud man. Roll back the clouds ,another saint is singing.
