| I sat watching the TV this evening, at first [not knowing him] thinking, done properly it can be such a fantastic medium, educational, entertaining and inspirational.
As I came to understand this man better I called my wife and we sat, holding hands [we never do that], spiritually uplifted by Christie a unique man. An example to us all. It seemed unfair at times some of the cards he was dealt, possibly exploited early on in his career and ill health. I looked on in wonder at the fantastic love shared between him and his family, it’s acknowledgement and appreciation while he lived and realised Christie was blessed. So kind and loving a man, getting back what he deserved. With more human beings like Christie here on earth we wouldn’t need to leave to experience heaven. Peace and love to his family. |

| Just seen the tv programe on rte about Christie’s Illness and the few months before his death. The music was touching. He had a heart all right. I think he would be a person that we should strive to get some of his humility, kindness, and a sense of peace. May Heaven be your bed Christie |

| What a lovely documentary on RTE tonight.
It reminded me of just what a loss Christy is to Irish music and to such a horrid illness from which so many people in Cork have also died - mostly through not knowing the danger they were in at their workplaces. My belated condolences to his wife and family who I’m sure feel the loss just as much, 8 months on. Fiona |
