Just heard a few of Christie’s songs (from the Green Album) played on the ’John Creedon Show’ on RTE Radio 1.

AGAIN, as I said before "A LEGEND" !!!

Sad loss of one of the finest, it will be a long time that a man like this walks on earth. To say that his music is inspirational and touching is a massive understatement - every time I listen to his music I am almost drawn to tears. I am, so glad that I got to see him at Coleraine in 2007, a memory I will have for life,

All the best to his family and especially to his daughter Hermione who is also a "brillant" singer! / John Herron

Just discovered Christie’s music. Can’t believe I’ve got to 54 years of age and have never heard his music up to now. I’m Irish and have lived in the UK for 25 years but somehow he passed me by.

As a lifelong Cat Stevens fan I’m stunned by the similarity in their voices. It’s such a joy to find a new body of music that I immediately fell in love with. I’m now buying up everything by Christie.

Having never seen Christie before I looked him up on Youtube and have watched various videos. He comes across as a really lovely man and one I wish I had seen in concert.

God bless Christie. What an underrated genius.

You really should have been a star.

I’ve only discovered christie’s music recently, after seeing his daughter hermione on t.v. I am truly saddened that I did not discover it sooner. I’ve been watching interviews with tears in my eyes, he seemed like an absolute gentleman. My sincere sympathies go out to his family. x x x

From someone who lost my beloved mother to this same form of horrible cancer shortly after Christie I want to express my sympathy to all of Christie’s family on their loss. Whenever I hear Christie’s beautiful music I think of my mam and while it will always bring a tear to my eye in realising how much I miss her it is comforting to know that her home in heaven is shared with people like Christie who brought such beauty to this world. A trait she would have appreciated. Sharing your grief. Donall Dunne

It was with the deepest sadness that I heard of Christy’s illness for I have known a lot of people who died from asbestos pisoning including my own Father and I knew that it was only a matter of time until the dreaded curse claimed another lovely Gentleman. I have been a fan of Christy’s for a very long time and I will always love his music and stories It is a joy to hear Harmonie singing ,she does a beautiful rendition of that Crowded House song and there is so many other beautiful songs out there just waiting for her, her dad would be such a proud man. Roll back the clouds ,another saint is singing.

Those we Love, don’t go Away,
they walk, beside us, Every Day.
They cannot leave their Heart, with You,
without becoming Part of You.

Those who Love us, always Stay,
Close enough, to show the Way.
They help us wake, Each day, and Grow
Those we love, they never Go.

Those we Love, don’t go Away,
they walk, beside us, Every Day.

I was born in Donegal, came to Stirling to do my training as a nurse
met my husband, settled down. We have our own place in Arranmore
Island go over as often as we can. We first heard Christie Hennessy, RIP on Highland radio, what a voice, I was blown away. I loved all his songs, the one I liked best was Remember Me. I then heard him being interviewed on radio, what a remarkable person.
You must all miss him so much, please God he is in a happier place.
