The latest Christie Hennessy album is being released.

This is where it all began in 1972.  Recorded on a small farm in Wales entitled 'CHRISTIE HENNESSY', it is also known as the legendary 'GREEN ALBUM'.

A rare folk album, much sought after - it was never re-printed on vinyl and original copies became rare, exchanging hands for up to £500!

Now for the first time, fans and followers of the late, great song writer can hear this album which includes a selection of Irish traditional songs, such as  'The Galway Shawl' and 'Far Away in Australia', together with his own compositions, among them 'High in the Trees', the first of many love songs that Hennessy wrote and 'The All-Ireland', a comical rendition of local men in Tralee attending a football match at Croke Park. Unique of its kind and a 'one off' of its day, the album also includes the earliest recording of 'Messenger Boy' and 'Don't Get Yourself a Shovel'.

Christie Hennessy's 'GREEN ALBUM' became a favourite of the late John Peel, having pride of place in his record collection.

Look out for it on St Patrick's Day - 17th March!

"Christie Hennessy, folks! How about that! Big hand now! Two big hands! Wasn’t that something? And you ain’t heard nothing yet..."

The show features live music and many of Christie Hennessy’s greatest hits, ’When Jolie me Christie’ will be performed by broadcaster and entertainer Aonghus McAnally. A message to all Christie Hennessy fans from his wife

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to extend kind messages of sympathy to my family in our great loss.
Your many thoughts of condolence have been a constant source of comfort and support daily, through this indescribably painful time.
We have all received much strength in the knowledge of loving prayers offered for us and I know too, that Christie will be aware of this ongoing care and also of your prayers for him in the Heaven Realms.

Thank you to all of you, from the bottom of my heart.

(aka Mrs Christie Hennessy)
